J. Stewart Smith Card Magic
Born on December 31, 1893, J. Stewart Smith was an amateur magician and the author of over a dozen booklets on magic with cards. Although Smith was not a professional performer and his effects relied primarily on simple, direct methods rather than sleight of hand, his material won high praise from some of the most technically proficient card workers of the time, including such luminaries as Dai Vernon, Bill Simon, Francis Carlyle, Brother John Hamman, and many others. Smith died on January 8, 1981, at the age of 87.
