HOW DO I GET MY PURCHASES?

Upon completion of your payment using our website shopping cart, you will have immediate access to your purchased downloads. In addition, you will receive a confirmation email (usually within seconds) with your download links. There's no login required. See Screen Shot of a sample completed order below. You'll note, your download link(s) will appear directly underneath the "Download Your Purchases" heading (top right). Your order confirmation email will also contain download link(s) under the "Downloadable Products" heading near the top of the message.

Please note, although customers who order from our email newsletter will see a different download page and download email, both systems offer immediate access with a follow-up email upon purchase.

If you do not see your download links or download email right away, please check your spam folder. If you require a new download email, just contact us at sales@trickshop.com and we will be happy to send one.

WHAT PROGRAM DO I NEED?

Adobe's FREE Acrobat Reader - The only program you require to open, read and print our PDFs on your desktop or laptop PC is Adobe's FREE Acrobat Reader. Most PCs have this handy program already installed. However, if needed, you can download the latest version directly from Adobe.

ACROBAT READER

IMPORTANT: Check install Acrobat for Google Chrome if you would like to open PDFs in your Chrome browser. However, you may want to "uncheck" the other optional offers, like McAfee Security Scan Plus and Safe Connect.

CAN I PRINT THE PDF FILES I RECEIVE?

YES, our files are designed to be printed and offer true, print-on-demand quality, including high resolution images, clean professional layouts and new typesetting. They are also re-formatted for output to your US 8-1/2" x 11" or European A4 desktop printer.

eReader Users

You can add it "as a PDF" to your eReader library using the free program, Calibre. Please note, for iPad users, we recommend the GoodReader app from iTunes. GoodReader does an excellent job of handling paginated (set layout) PDF ebooks, like those published by Trickshop.com.

SAVING PDF FILES FROM THE INTERNET

When on a web page, Adobe Acrobat will open a PDF file in your web browser by default. Browsers, such as Chrome, have a "disk icon" you can click to save a PDF file. However, it is more difficult to save PDFs in some other browsers. On a PC, you can right click on any download link and choose "Save Link As" or "Save Target As". This allows you to save the file to your computer (in your My Documents folder, etc.) without opening it first. You can then open the file by double clicking on it or launching your Acrobat Reader first and then opening the PDF file.

If you are having a problem saving the file to your computer, you can also change your Acrobat preferences as follows:

(Applies to Acrobat Reader version X and earlier.)

If you are having problems saving or printing a pdf file opened from the Internet – check the Internet preference setting in Acrobat Reader.

By default pdf files opened from the Internet open in your Browser, rather than in Acrobat Reader. You cannot save, print or use the pdf bookmarks to navigate your pdf document when it is opened in this way.

To open a pdf from the Internet in Acrobat Reader so that you can navigate, save and print

  1. Close Internet Explorer
  2. Open Adobe Reader (from the Start menu)
  3. Display the Edit menu, and select Preferences
  4. Select the Internet category in the left panel
  5. Deselect the first option -  Display PDF in browser
  6. Click OK
  7. Go back to Internet Explorer and open the pdf

The pdf file will open in a new window in Acrobat Reader (you may have to click OK at a prompt to allow the PDF file to download).

WHAT ARE ZIP FILES?

In some cases, your purchase will include more than one PDF file. In that case, the multiple files will be "zipped" into a single "archive" file. Most PCs come with software to zip and unzip files. Just right click on the file and choose "Extract..." A new (unzipped) folder will appear. If you do not have this utility program, you can download 7-Zip from Cnet. For Apple users, Stuffit Expander for Mac is available free from Cnet.
