1. BY THE REGULAR PALM
Hold the substitute coin in the regular palm in the left hand and keep the hand with its back to the front. Take the marked coin with the right hand and go through the motions of placing it in the left hand, really palming it in the regular palm. Raise the left hand vertically; at the moment the right hand reaches it; turn it horizontally, palm upwards, and rest the tips of the right fingers on the substitute coin for a moment, then move it away. So far as the spectators are concerned, you have simply transferred the coin from one hand to the other.
