2. THE REGULAR PALM

The thimble, in this case, is held by the contraction of the muscles of the palm (Fig. 3), as with a coin or any other small object. It is useful mainly for the production of a thimble on the tips of the third or little fingers, and a thimble can be placed in this position from the tip of either of these fingers by simply bending them into the palm.
