3. THE THUMB GRIP
The most useful method of holding a watch hidden in the hand that of gripping the keeper in the thumb crotch by pressing the first joint of the thumb against the side of the hand. In order to place the watch in this position, hold it flat between the top joints of the first and second fingers of the right hand, the keeper being toward the body and the third and fourth fingers doubled back into the hand (Fig. 6).
Bring the left hand over the right two fingers, with its back to the front and the fingers pointing downwards. As soon as they screen the watch, bend the first two fingers of the right hand back, carry the watch to the right thumb crotch, and grip the ring with the thumb (Fig. 7), immediately afterward stretching the right fingers out again and encircling them with the left fingers. Move the left fist away and point to it with the right forefinger. Agitate the left fingers as if crumbling the watch to nothing and finish the vanish as usual.
