2. THE PINCH
In this case the cigarette is held by one end, pinched between the fingers, so that it lies along the line formed by the joining of the fingers, pressure being exerted to flatten the end a little to prevent exposure of the white paper covering it. The most useful position is between the first and second fingers, at either the front or the back of the hand (Figs. 2 and 3).
