3. ONE HAND KNOT

Hold the right hand vertically, palm outwards, and lay the middle of the silk over the fork of the thumb, letting the part at the front of the hand pass between the third and fourth fingers (Fig. 31). turn the hand so that the fingers point to the floor and the back of the hand is uppermost; then seize B between the tips of the first and second fingers, the little finger keeping A out of the way. Jerk the hand downwards, throwing the loop off the back of the hand, and the knot forms in the middle of the silk.

The action is covered by a quick downward movement of the hand, followed at once by an upward throw—tossing the silk into the air. Catch it by one corner as it falls.
