Although not widely known, Albaka is a near perfect demonstration of mind reading with a deck of cards. Conceived by Al Baker and Julien Proskauer, here's the basic effect: A spectator is asked to merely think of ANY card in the pack. The performer looks at him for a second, and then writes something on the face of one card; which he places in his pocket. Now the spectator is asked to remove his thought of card from the deck. The performer brings out the card from his pocket and THE NAME OF THE MENTALLY-CHOSEN CARD IS WRITTEN ON IT!
- NO nail writers
- NO impression devices or carbons
- NO pocket indices
- NO memory work
- And the backs are NOT marked
What's more, performing Albaka is a breeze, since the cards practically do all of the work. In fact, there is just one move and the misdirection is so strong, no one will ever see it. We supply our streamlined handling plus step-by-step set-up instructions in PDF format, you supply the cards.
